Book 30

In the book Roller Girl by Victoria Jamieson It describes this story in a fun way.  Astrid wants Nicole
to do roller derby with her but, Nicole wants to do dance camp instead.  Astrid tries to solve the
problem by convincing Nicole to do it with her. Astrid does not try to solve the problem another
way but, things just happen.  In the end Astrid and Nicole end up friends again.

Book 29

In the book Middle School the Worst Years of My Life by James Patterson and Chris Tebbetts it
describes this story in a fun way.  Rafe wants to be a normal kid but, Rafe ends up trying to break
every rule in the rule book.  Using the acronym Rules Aren’t For Everyone. Rafe tries to solves
the problem by putting his project on hold for a while but, that does not not work very well because
Rafe ends up in the principal's office multiple times. Rafe doesn’t try to solve the problem another
way but, instead ends up in summer school.  In the end Rafe finds out that middle school isn’t
the worst.

Book 28

In the book Baby Sitters Club by Gale Galligan it describes is fun story.  Dawn wants Mrs.Barrett
to start paying more attention to her kids because Dawn feels like she is taking care of the kids
like she is their mother.  Dawn tries to solve the problem by pretending that everything is alright.
That does not really work because later in the book Dawn ends up telling Mrs.Barrett that she
can no longer babysit for her.  In the end Dawn and Mrs.Barrett make a plan.

Book 27

I the book Sheets by Brenna Thummler it shows how important acceptance really is.  Marjorie
wants to keep her lundymat open but, Mr.Saubertuck is trying to take over the laundromat.  
Marjorie tries to solve the problem by just constantly saying that she will think about it but, that
does not work very well. The thing is  Marjorie does not really try to solve the problem another
way but, she meets these ghost and they help her keep the laundromat open. In the end the
laundromat stays open and Marjorie’s business makes good progress.

Book26

In the book Serendipity and Me by Judith L Roth Sara wants to keep the kitty that just kind of
appeared on her porch.  The problem is that Sara’s dad has been against cats ever since Sara’s
mother died. Sara tries to solve the problem by going behind her dads back but, that does not
work.  So the way Sara ends up getting a kitten is when she goes out into the really dense fog.
Sara’s dad decides that Sara gets grounded because she went out into the fog. Sara’s dad’s
punishment is that Sara gets to have a cat.  In the end Sara and her dad have fun with their
little kitty Serendipity.

Book 25

In the book Serendipity and Me by Judith L. Roth it describes this story in a fun way.  Sara wants to have a cat. The problem is that her dad won’t let her get one because cats remind her dad to much of her mom.  The first time Sara does not try to solve the problem but, finds a stray cat. Sara tries to solve the problem again by trying to convince her dad to let her keep the cat.  In the end Sara has some exciting things and some things that turn out to be consequences.

Book 24

In the book The Pages Between Us by Lindsey Leavitt and Robert Mellom it describes this story in an amazing way.  Olivia wants to be in chess club. The problem with Olivia joining chess club is the it starts tearing Olivia and Piper’s friendship apart.  Olivia tries to solve the problem by apologizing to Piper but, that does not work well. Olivia does not really try to solve the problem in another way but, she does realize that when she is on her way to the chess tournament that she is in the wrong place and instead should be at Piper’s birthday party.  In the end Olivia and Piper are friends again.

Book 23

In the book The Pages Between Us by Lindsey Leavitt and Robert Mellom  it describes this story
on an amazing way.  Olivia wants to become able to talk to people but, everytime Olivia tries to
talk to people she always ends up messing up.  Olivia tries to solve the problem by joining a
bunch of clubs with her best friend Piper. That does not end up to well though.  So Olivia tries
to solve the problem another way by joining chess club. Little does Olivia know though that
Chess club might tear apart Olivia and Piper’s friendship.    

Book 22

In the book How to Speak Dolphin by Ginny Rorby it describes this story in an amazing way.  Lily wants to help her friend succeed in letting Nori out of her cage and into her natural habitat the ocean.  The problem is that Nori is also helping Adam in dolphin therapy and Lily’s dad does not want to let Nori go back into the ocean.  Lily and her friend tried to solve the problem by trying to convince Lily’s dad that Nori belongs out into the ocean. Lily and her friend do not try to solve the problem another way.  In the end Lily and her friend finally end up convincing Lily’s dad to let Nori out into the ocean.

Book 21

In the book How to Speak Dolphin by Ginny Rorby it describes this story in an amazing way.  Lily
wants her little brother Adam to be “normal” (as in not autistic.)  The problem is that Lily feels
that “the world revolves around Adam” Lily tries to solve the problem by convincing her dad
that the needs to take Adam to a school where the can actually learn something.  Lily does not
try to solve the problem in another way. Little does Lily know though that taking Adam to dolphin
therapy might cause a problem.

Book 20

In the book  The City of Ember describes this story in a fun way.  Lina’s friend Doon goes into the pipeworks and finds the stone marked “E”, then the day tells Lina.  The problem is that after they find the way out of Ember they tell the mayor’s guards something, and the next day they are said to be spreading “vicious rumors.”  Both Doon and Lina try to solve the problem by hiding in the school house but, thy know they can’t stay there forever so they decide to write Clary a message. When Lina goes to deliver the note to clary she gets caught.  In the end Doon and Lina have a bigger adventure ahead of them.

Book 19

Pages 150- 371

In the book Pies and Prejudice by Heather Vogel Frederick it describes this fun story in an
amazing way.  Emma wishes that she didn't have to house swap with the Berklys but, it is
too late to change her mind.  Emma’s friends try to help by getting her going away presents
which one of them is a mini computer so that they can video chat.  Emma does not try to
solve the problem another way because she has started to like it in England. In the end
Emma starts to really like England but, runs into multiple problems on the way.     

Book 18

Pages 1-154

In the book City of Ember by Jeanne DuPRAU it describes this amazing story in a fun way. Lina
wants to save help save the city. The problem is that, the message Lina has, has a bunch of
holes in it because f er sister Poppy and it is very hard to “decode” the message.  Lina tries to
solve the problem by decoding the message but that does not work, because she does not know
enough about the city. So, Lina asks Doon to help her with the “Instructions” and the does.
In the end Lina and Doon are determined to find a way out of the City of Ember.

Book17

Pages 150- 321

In the book The Someday Birds Sally J. Pla describes this fun story in an amazing way.  After
Charlie finds this amazing thing he is determined to find someone who might answer all of his
questions.  The problem is that gram makes an urgent call saying that Charlie, Davis, Jole, and
Jake’s, dad had to go into surgery again.  Charlie tries to solve the problem by just sitting and
waiting but, when Charlie see gram crying he runs away and writes the important person a note.  
In the end everybody except for Gram and Dad get on a plane and fly back home and on the way
to the airport Charlie receive a very important letter.

Pages 1-150

In the book The Someday Birds by Sally J. Pla describes this awesome story in a fun way.  Charlie wants to stay at home in bed but, Davis Charlies older sister does not trust Ludmila their babysitter so he is forced to go on this really long Journey.  Charlie tries to solve the problem by protesting against his older sister but that does not work very well. Charlie does not try to solve the problem another way but, doesn’t like the road trip to see Gram.  In the end Charlie ends up finding something really important that might solve all of his problems.

Book 15

Pages 1-150

In the book Pies and Prejudice by Heather Vogel Frederick it describes this fun story in an
amazing way.  Emma wants to come back to Concord because of this girl named Annabelle
but, Emma’s family does not have enough money to afford a plane ticket to Concord so that
Emma can go there for spring break.  Emma tries to solve the problem by avoiding Annabelle
but, that doesn’t work so well. Once Emma tells her friends what happens Emma’s friends
Megan, Becca, Cassidy, and all their parents and grandparents, start selling pies, cakes, and
cupcakes.  In the end Emma ends up happy with her friends in Concord but, she still has a
whole lot of problems coming her way.
